Three million over 60s wanted. They are the people who are missing from the registration lists for vaccination. The figure was provided by the extraordinary Commissioner for the Covid Emergency, Francesco Figliuolo, who also sent a reminder letter to the Regions. There are two requests: to register the over-60s and communicate to the commissioner by July 15 “the number of subjects unable to join the campaign for health reasons and the number of subjects who have expressed a desire not to join the campaign, divided by classes of age”.

The reasons for Figliuolo’s pressure are contained in the letter. “The trend of the vaccination campaign on the over 60 age groups shows a decline in the last two weeks, coinciding with the extension of vaccination to age groups more easily accessible or facilitated by the vaccination model of the hubs. It is not known whether the failure involvement is to be ascribed to clinical limitations, individual choice or difficulty in registering on vaccination platforms “.

Figliuolo, on the sidelines of a visit to the vaccination center of the Spallanzani hospital in Rome, specified the meaning of his latest provision: “The Regions must actively seek the over 60s: to date, about 2.8 million are missing. . Some of these did not do so out of free choice or for health reasons “.

The first answers came from the territory. “I too received and read the letter from the general – reports the governor of Veneto Luca Zaia – we insisted a lot on the over 60s and in the end we were right to focus on this segment of citizens, because our data, processed by the Company Zero, they are very good “. Out of a Veneto over 60 population of 1,470,682 people, 1,284,868 received at least one dose and 822,605 completed the 2-dose course. The vaccinated plus the booked are 88.7 percent of the total, with 99.3 percent of those born in 1941, 88.8 percent of those born between 1942 and 1951 (out of a total of 494,721 people ) and 82.2 percent of those born between 1952 and 1961 (out of a total of 610,635 people). A total of 166,523 people out of 1,470,682 are missing from the appeal.
