The Codacons denounces the urban decay of Rome and presents a complaint to the Public Prosecutor’s Office for the possible crimes of road blocking, an attack on transport safety and interruption of public service.

The denunciation of the Codacons

The reason for the complaint of the association, which coordinates the associations for the defense of the environment and the rights of users and consumers, is the abandonment of sharing scooters on the sidewalk right in the Atac bus stop.

The episode of urban decay takes place in Via dei Prefetti in the center of Rome, where a dozen electric scooters thrown on the ground prevent the boarding and alighting of the passengers of the Atac buses. Added to this is the inconvenience created for pedestrians.

The complaint to the Public Prosecutor of Rome

Carlo Rienzi, president of Codacons, comments on the one seen and filmed in via dei Prefetti, “as a shameful spectacle for the capital of Italy, the neglect of the city damages the citizens”. For Rienzi in problem it is even more serious because it is put at risk “the safety of the blind and disabled who cross via dei Prefetti and who could suffer ruinous falls and physical damage by colliding with the scooters abandoned on the sidewalk”.

President Codacons today announced the complaint to the Rome Public Prosecutor, asking to open the investigation against the Municipality of Rome, the sharing company that manages the scooter rental service and drivers who have abandoned their vehicles in a wild way ( identifiable through the cameras installed in the area and the data collected by the vehicle manager) for the offenses of road blocking, interruption of public service and an attack on transport safety “.
