Rome, June 16 (Adnkronos) – Q&A via twitter between Roberto Gualtieri and Carlo Calenda. The question of waste and waste-to-energy plants has sparked the exchange between the two candidates for mayor of Rome.
Calenda writes: “All large cities have a waste-to-energy plant. The Commission itself foresees a 25% waste-to-energy process. With Roberto Gualtieri the waste (170 mil) of transport outside the region and waste on the street will continue. We have proposed to invest in a biorefinery, but in the short term, a strengthening of San Vittore is essential. As was shown, Gualtieri cannot approve Ama in Acea and the waste-to-energy plant because the regional / local Pd ruling class would not allow it “.
Gualtieri’s reply comes close: “So you have already changed your program? Too bad once we agreed. Acea already has 2 waste-to-energy plants in Lazio sufficient with 70% of differentiated waste: building another one is against the regional plan and it takes years: it is better to envisage more advanced recovery plants “.
