Easter and Easter Monday armored, therefore, but with some exceptions, including the one that allows you to leave the house to attend religious services: today at 11 Archbishop Mario Delpini will preside over the pontifical Easter Mass in the Cathedral, which will also be broadcast live on television (on Chiesa TV, channel 195 of digital terrestrial) and in streaming on the diocesan portal www.chiesadimilano.it and on Youtube. Radio Mater will then broadcast the homily on a deferred basis at 8.45 pm. The celebration will be translated into sign language for the deaf and subtitled.
Every 13 Monsignor Delpini will participate in the Easter lunch of the Cardinal Ferrari Opera in via Boeri, where he will eat together with a hundred “dearest” – as the volunteers call the homeless and people in economic difficulty assisted by the Milanese institution, which this year celebrates the centenary – in compliance with anti-Covid regulations. The diners will be distributed in three rooms, with three seats for every two tables, and served by 20 volunteers.
A solidarity initiative for the Easter lunch was also organized by Paolo Sassi, owner of the Osteria Memà in via Pietro Crespi, who will donate about 80 “lunch packs” to Farsi Prossimo onlus and to the Opera Cardinal Ferrari. The boys of NoLo Social District will also participate, who will distribute meals to the needy in the neighborhood.
“This is an appointment that we have always respected on the occasion of the holidays, at Christmas, Easter and August, and which we did not want to give up despite Covid – underlines Sassi -. I think it is the best way to celebrate, despite all the problems of this. period”.
All 16, also in the Cathedral, the archbishop will then preside over the Second Pontifical Vespers.
Tomorrow’s programs, Easter Monday
Tomorrow, however, Monsignor Delpini will celebrate all 17 the pilgrim’s mass with plenary indulgence in the church of Santa Maria degli Angeli. Due to the red zone, museums and art galleries are closed, but there are still opportunities for those who want to spend the holidays in the name of art: on the site of the Last Supper, for example, Haltadefinizione (tech company of Franco Cosimo Panini Publisher) and the Lombardy Regional Museums Directorate propose a virtual visit to the theme “At the table with Leonardo”, dedicated to Easter foods and traditions.
The thrill of observing Leonardo’s masterpiece in person remains irreplaceable, but technology allows for enlargements that are unthinkable for the human eye, discovering details that are normally invisible.
