As anticipated by the President of the Region, Eugenio Giani, the new positive cases in Tuscany are 57 more than yesterday (56 confirmed with molecular swab and 1 by rapid antigenic test), which lead to 243,514 cases registered since the beginning of the pandemic. The average age of the 57 new positives today is approximately 45 years (16% are under 20, 27% between 20 and 39, 25% between 40 and 59, 25% between 60 and 79, 7% have 80 years or older). New cases are 0.02% more than the previous day’s total.

The healed grew by 0.1% and reached 232,632 (95.5% of total cases). Today, 6,572 molecular swabs and 8,284 rapid antigenic swabs were performed, of which 0.4% were positive. On the other hand, 5,214 subjects were tested today (with antigenic and / or molecular swab, excluding control swabs), of which 1.1% tested positive. The currently positive are 4,056 today, -3.6% compared to yesterday.

The people hospitalized in the beds dedicated to Covid patients today are a total of 240 (13 less than yesterday, minus 5.1%), 54 in intensive care (9 less than yesterday, minus 14.3%).

Today there are 7 new deaths: 5 men and 2 women with an average age of 75.7 years. Regarding the province of residence, the deceased people are: 3 in Florence, 1 in Arezzo, 1 in Siena, 2 in Grosseto.

These are the data – ascertained at 12 noon today based on the requests of the National Civil Protection – relating to the progress of the epidemic in the region.

The following are the cases of positivity in the area with the change compared to yesterday (56 confirmed with molecular swab and 1 by rapid antigen test). There are 67,210 overall cases to date in Florence (14 more than yesterday), 22,533 in Prato (8 more), 22,957 in Pistoia (7 more), 13,299 in Massa, 24,611 in Lucca (3 more), 29,176 in Pisa (3 more), 17,462 in Livorno (3 more), 22,823 in Arezzo (4 more), 13,815 in Siena (4 more), 9,073 in Grosseto (11 more). 555 positive cases were reported in Tuscany, but residing in other regions. There are 30 cases found today in the Central Local Health Authority, 8 in the North West, 19 in the South East.

Tuscany is in 12th place in Italy in terms of number of cases (including residents and non-residents), with about 6,638 cases per 100,000 inhabitants (Italian average about 7,165 x100,000, yesterday’s figure). The provinces of notification with the highest rate are Prato with 8,800 cases x100,000 inhabitants, Pistoia with 7,894, Pisa with 7,006, the lowest Grosseto with 4,152.

Overall, 3,816 people are in isolation at home, as they have mild symptoms that do not require hospital treatment or are symptom-free (137 fewer than yesterday, minus 3.5%). There are 11,589 (147 fewer than yesterday, 1.3% less) people, also isolated, in active surveillance, because they have had contact with infected people (Asl Centro 5.969, North West 4.276, South East 1.344).

The total people healed are 232,632 (200 more than yesterday, plus 0.1%): 0 people clinically healed (stable compared to yesterday), that is, who became asymptomatic after presenting clinical manifestations associated with the infection and 232,632 (200 more compared to yesterday, plus 0.1%) declared fully cured, the so-called viral healings, with negative swab.

6,826 have died since the beginning of the epidemic as follows: 2,199 in Florence, 594 in Prato, 627 in Pistoia, 524 in Massa Carrara, 662 in Lucca, 700 in Pisa, 416 in Livorno, 502 in Arezzo, 329 in Siena, 182 in Grosseto, 91 people died on Tuscan soil, but they were residents outside the region.

The Tuscan raw mortality rate (number of deaths / resident population) for Covid-19 is 186.1 x100.000 residents against 214.4 x100.000 of the Italian average (12th region). As for the provinces, the highest mortality rate is found in Massa Carrara (276.0 x100.000), Prato (232.0 x100.000) and Florence (223.0 x100.000), the lowest at Grosseto (83.3 x100.000).
