TURIN. The 5 Star Movement, in Turin, is moving forward “with its candidates and I think it will not be a Caporetto: we will work to get to the ballot”. Thus the mayor of Turin, Chiara Appendino, guest on La7 of the program “L’aria che tira estate”.
Lo Russo: “Appendino says no to alliances in the ballot? Nobody owns the votes”
“The turnout in the primaries of the Democratic Party does not surprise me”
Always the mayor: «This result does not surprise me, because every Saturday I go to a market and every Sunday in a play area in the city, it was felt that there was not this drive to participate, this interest. We went from 50,000 votes in the 2011 primaries with Fassino to about 12,000 votes in 2021 ».
Again Appendino: «I think this is an important signal, obviously this will have to be right and the Democratic Party will have to evaluate it. I tried to build an agreement in the first round with the Democratic Party, because as shown by this participation in the primary, from my point of view there was a need for an innovative project. The PD instead wanted to essentially close in on itself with these primaries.
