The Subaru Forester is the long-standing crossover of the Japanese company. The fifth generation was unveiled in 2018 and now the restyling is ready.
The renewed version of the Forester has arrived in Japan and will also be available in Europe in the coming months. The changes are not many, but they make the Subaru more current and modern.
Renewed look and technology
Like any self-respecting restyling, the Forester is equipped with new LED headlights with a sharper design than the model currently on sale. Also new is the bumper with a different design of the “whisker” in the center of the grille and of the fog lamp housings. The sides and tail, on the other hand, are practically identical to the current model.
The look changes significantly depending on the chosen setting. In Japan it is available in Touring, X-Break, Advance and Sport versions. The latter is characterized by black inserts and red borders on the bodywork. The 18 ”wheels, on the other hand, can be combined with the Autumn Green Metallic, Cascade Green Silica and Brilliant Bronze Metallic colors. However, it remains to be seen whether we will see these variants also in the Italian market.
The passenger compartment is virtually unchanged and the only updates concern the choice of upholstery. In addition, the infotainment has been refined and is equipped with an improved EyeSight camera system capable of offering a wider viewing angle.
Only mild hybrid choice
As for driving, all versions of the Forester are equipped with the e-Active Shift Control which improves pick-up when exiting the corners and can be combined with the e-Boxer mild hybrid petrol engines. In Italy, the 150 bhp 2.0 with all-wheel drive and continuously variable gearbox should be confirmed.
Any adjustments to the Italian price list have not yet been announced. The first restyled versions should arrive in dealerships by autumn.
