Jim Ryan, the PlayStation boss, said he was infuriated by the problems created by touts a PS5, joining his voice to that of players disappointed by not being able to buy a new console. He obviously does not have these problems, but interviewed by Axiom he wanted to make his point of view on the subject known.
According to Ryan, currently the phenomenon is very small compared to the previous months, but the fact remains that it is still present: “I am really frustrated and angry, especially when I see retailers and bots putting their never on stocks.“
Ryan assured that Sony is making every effort to get PS5 into the right hands, like those of our beloved readers. One of the ways to do this is by upgrading the site PlayStation Direct, which will also arrive in Europe and other territories by the end of March 2022.
It should be pointed out that, despite the problems, Sony has sold a large amount of PS5s. The latest official data speaking of 7.8 million units at the end of last fiscal year, ended March 31, 2021. Currently there will certainly be more. Just today a PS5 bundle was launched with Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, which we imagine immediately sold out.
