The case was reported by the general secretary of the CISL school Gissi. The story dates back to last September, with the resumption of lessons
TUSCANY – The director of a Tuscan school would have ended up under investigation on charges of manslaughter for the death of one of his teachers, who died in hospital after he was diagnosed with Covid-19 pneumonia. Inail has taken steps to check if there are any grounds for including the teacher’s death among the deaths at work and the investigators are ascertaining whether all the necessary measures have been applied within the school to avoid contagion.
The story dates back to last September, with the beginning of the new school year and the resumption of lessons in the presence, and was brought to the fore by the general secretary of the CISL Scuola Maddalena Gissi during a television broadcast: the principal, received the notice of guarantee, he turned to the union.
“It is unthinkable to accuse a school manager of having favored the infection – said Gissi – We need a regulatory intervention, we cannot blame the principals for everything that happens in their institutes”.
The excess of responsibility attributed to some institutional figures by the prosecutors is also at the center of another case that has become of national importance in these days: the mayor of Crema Stefania Bonaldi received a guarantee notice for an accident that occurred in October 2020 in a municipal nursery school, where an 18-month-old child was seriously injured in his finger, which was crushed in a fire door. The investigation that followed started with a complaint presented by the parents of the child, who is now well. It is not known the dynamics of the accident that happened to the child. But are we sure the mayor has something to do with a fire door closing?
