This is how Doctors with Africa CUAMM recalls its two operators who died in an ambush, Monday 7 June, when some vehicles of Doctors with Africa CUAMM, traveling in a convoy in the western area of ​​Yirol West county, Lakes State, in South Sudan, have been ambushed by unknown persons, for reasons still unclear. “We cling to the pain of the family members of our dear colleagues. Their loss is a great tragedy that affects the CUAMM family and our service in a country that we hope will soon find stability and a path of authentic and lasting peace ”.
Moses Maker, 35, worked with Doctors with Africa CUAMM as a nutritionist. Initially working in Cuibet County, he later moved to Yirol. He was in charge of organizing and supervising all activities related to the prevention and treatment of acute malnutrition. In particular, he was involved in integrating nutritional services into the primary health care package at outlying facilities and within communities in Yirol West and Yirol East counties.
Abraham Gulung, 31, worked with Doctors with Africa CUAMM as a driver. He supported all the activities implemented by CUAMM staff in collaboration with the Yirol West County Health Office, accompanying the supervision visits to peripheral health facilities and the distribution of drugs and nutritional supplements in the last mile.
