FIUMICINO, 08 JUN – Aeroporti di Roma, in collaboration with the Environmental Department of the Municipality of Fiumicino, takes the field directly to restore a free beach on the Fiumicino coast, already “adopted” since last winter, to full usability. With a special initiative in the Pesce Luna area in Focene, 70 Adr employees, on a voluntary basis, equipped with gloves and suitable equipment, are carrying out an extraordinary cleaning of the beach this morning, redeveloping it and making it safe for all citizens. The cleaning, carried out in a sort of team competition, was aimed at collecting plastic, glass and undifferentiated, to be sent for disposal. Present at the start were the President and CEO of Adr, Claudio De Vicenti and Marco Troncone, who symbolically handed over the “keys” of the beach to the Mayor of Fiumicino Esterino Montino. Still in the same area, in mid-December last year, Aeroporti di Roma had begun, with the Municipality of Fiumicino, the recovery and redevelopment of the “Pesce Luna” beach, freeing it from unauthorized artifacts that defaced it. It will become a supervised free beach. “We are happy to contribute to the return of such a beautiful environmental corner of the coast of the municipality of Fiumicino and so close to the airport. Making a concrete contribution is important and is part of a broader framework of positive collaboration with the territory – he said. Troncone – An important moment that concretely confirms our ambition to be a sustainable airport giving a tangible sign. In December we launched an initiative on this stretch of coast to recover a wonderful corner, which was previously marred by illegal artifacts, in our country. We have set out to do a further cleaning action to give the beach back to the community fully usable. An initiative in the sign of restarting: we have some light on the traffic, recovering and growing after the darkness of these very difficult months. I would like to thank all Adr’s team who gave themselves a great blow to the back, with heart and professionalism. And today a good slice of the team is pre hear on the field “. “A good job giving a direct contribution to redevelop a stretch of coast of great environmental value”, added De Vicenti (ANSA).
