The number of deaths returns to double figures in Puglia. Another 17 people with Covid have unfortunately lost their lives in the last 24 hours. In recent days this indicator had been steadily below 10 units. This is what emerges from the bulletin issued today (Tuesday 8 June) by the Puglia Region. THE new infections there are 134, compared to 8,302 swabs carried out. The greatest increase is recorded in the Bat province (39), followed by the Brindisi province (34). Then the provinces of Bari (19), Taranto (18), Lecce (18), Foggia (8). Two cases of residents outside the region have been re-allocated.
The best news comes on the fronts of hospitalizations and healings. In fact, another 59 freed themselves in one day beds, bringing the number of hospitalized people down to 372. Also significant is the decline in hospitalizations at the Perrino hospital in Brindisi, which currently hosts 31 patients (9 in Pneumology, 7 in Internal Medicine, 3 in Intensive Care), while the post-Covid hospital hosts 7 patients in Mesagne and 2 in Cisternino.

There are 1,325 instead, the people healed, for a total of 679 recoveries since the start of the pandemic. The number of current positives thus falls to 17,331. Returning to the sad figure of the 17 deaths, these are distributed as follows: 9 in the province of Bari, 1 in the province of Brindisi (a 75-year-old hospitalized in the Perrino Reanimation ward), 3 in the province of Foggia, 3 in the province of Lecce, 1 in province of Taranto.
Since the beginning of the emergency, 2,542,091 tests have been carried out: 227,679 patients recovered; 17,331 are currently positive cases. The total of positive Covid cases in Puglia is 251,572 divided as follows: 94,734 in the Province of Bari; 25,427 in the Province of Bat; 19,483 in the Province of Brindisi; 44,928 in the Province of Foggia; 26,687 in the Province of Lecce; 39,151 in the Province of Taranto; 800 attributed to residents outside the region; 362 province of residence not known.
The ASL prevention departments have activated all the procedures for the acquisition of anamnestic and epidemiological information, aimed at tracing close contacts.
