The day of testing following the Catalan Grand Prix was crucial for Marc Marquez and the HRC team. If, on the one hand, the Spaniard was able to complete 87 laps, thus being able to dedicate himself to regaining the right confidence in the saddle, Honda instead had the opportunity to carry out some tests of new components for the RC213-V.
Marc said he was satisfied with the day of testing, albeit physically in pieces: “I’m really devastated, but I needed a day like this to get back to riding like I know how to do on this bike. The goal was to do a lot of laps and that was the case, even if at the end of the day I preferred not to push so as not to strain my arm too much. Luckily now there is a bit of a break before the next race, which I will arrive at in better physical condition.

“We worked a lot on aerodynamics”
Several tests were carried out on the bike, especially at the aerodynamic level: “We worked a lot on aerodynamics over the course of the day, why we have the possibility to homologate a new fairing. These are not big differences, but details that can help us in the fastest circuits. In the next tests at Misano we will continue in this direction “.
“As for the laboratory bike, on the other hand, I can’t say anything. The engine is the same, but the balance changes. The bike was all black, that’s true, but it wasn’t completely new”, concludes the eight-time world champion.
