On the blocking of layoffs, there is “absolute harmony” with Mario Draghi. The Northern League secretary Matteo Salvini said at the end of the meeting with the Prime Minister which lasted an hour and a half: “We have lost sight of the clock.” A face to face that touched on several of the issues on the political agenda, starting with the NRP and the Sostegni bis decree. But, precisely, also of the possibility that the blocking of layoffs does not stop abruptly but is to some extent modulated with differences between the different sectors: “The sectors that are growing and running – explains Salvini – need to hire, not lay off, I am thinking of industry and construction, they must once again be free to act on the market. Then there are the sectors that have suffered the most, I am thinking of trade, services, tourism, which will have until October to organize themselves, with the aim of a summer with an economic boom ».
For the rest, the meeting was an opportunity for «substantial sharing and satisfaction for all that has been done in these three months and for what will be done in the next few. We are giving the Italians excellent results “. According to the Northern League leader, on the other hand, there would have been no talk of the more purely political issues, such as the federation that should bring together the center-right of the government: «With the Prime Minister I speak of Italy, not of parties. I’m talking about the federation now with the leaders of the League ». After Palazzo Chigi, in fact, the secretary’s agenda included a meeting with the ministers and undersecretaries of the government, together with the regional commissioners.
