Gone are the days of branded electoral campaigns M5s, between attacks against Forza Italia and Silvio Berlusconi, ad personam laws and conflict of interest. At least for the ex of the 5-star Movement Marcello De Vito, who was the first mayoral candidate for the same M5s in Rome in 2013, and is currently in office as president of the Capitoline Assembly. At a press conference in San Lorenzo in Lucina, headquarters of Forza Italia itself, alongside Senator Maurizio Gasparri and the national coordinator Antonio Tajani, De Vito announced his adhesion to the blue party. Not without attacks on former colleagues themselves. “I could not stand up to a thousand anymore ideological somersaults of the M5S, to whom I say good all … ”, he claimed, motivating, in his own way, his own change of jacket.
During the announcement, De Vito also congratulated the president of FI: “Berlusconi? I haven’t heard it yet, but I consider him a great political innovator, since its inception “. “Mine is one natural choice, we found ourselves on things to do. I could have stopped doing politics or made available the experience gained in recent years in the City Council and I turned to thepolitical area that had always represented my ideas and my culture before joining the M5S ”, explains De Vito, rejecting the accusations of political inconsistency. The president of the Capitoline assembly, in view of the next municipalities, is ready for the candidacy in the blue team, after the disagreements with the same Movement opened after the investigations against him on the project of the As Roma stadium, for which De Vito is on trial in the first instance on charges of corruption. “I make myself available, I want to make my contribution. My choice regardless of legal matters. Even if the behavior of M5S and its main exponents I define it as unspeakable ”, he explained. And there were also accusations against the mayor Raggi: “His government was mediocre. I have not communicated this choice to you … ”, he added, also specifying that he did not want to leave the office of President of the Assembly:“ I don’t see why ”.
