According to the Spanish broadcaster SER string the Swiss Ministry of Justice sent a notification to the two bodies to communicate that they will not be able to impose sanctions against Barcelona, Real Madrid and Juventus. On May 25, Uefa had initiated disciplinary proceedings against the three clubs in question.
A Madrid judge had already sided with Barça, Juve and Real, warning Uefa from adopting any disciplinary or sanctioning procedure. In the meantime, a binding opinion had been requested from the Court of Justice of the European Union for alleged violations of the competition rules by Uefa and FIFA, which could turn the tables.
