Genoa – And in the end, long awaited, the white arrived. What if they told us a year and a half ago that our life would be conditioned by colors, this too, like many others, we would not have believed. Instead, we found ourselves wanting or dreading a color change for months. A tiring march, one stage after another, with going, reversing and returning.
Yes, because, since the “traffic light” system was introduced in November, Liguria has changed color 19 times, twenty counting also the passage, hopefully definitive,in the white area. Twenty evolutions with relative tightening and loosening of the restrictive measures established to contain the spread of the epidemic.
In this period Liguria has spent as a region as a whole 13 days in the red zone, as little as possible and less than all other regions. In practice, only the periods established at a national level for the whole peninsula, thus excluding the measures that put the western Liguria in the most restrictive range for a certain period. 80, instead the days passed in orange and 100 those in yellow. Always taking into account only the national decisions and not the regional ordinances that concerned the provinces of Savona and Imperia exclusively in the first weeks of April.
The march between colors obviously reflected the trend of the epidemic which, especially in the so-called third wave, the one that began in January 2021, it has affected our territory less than others, even neighboring ones. From the red zone called for the Easter holidays onwards, the contagion has progressively slowed down. The daily infections decreased week after week until reaching the levels of these days. White levels, in fact. Much longed for, after a long march.
