Miguel Oliveira won the 2021 Catalonian GP, seventh stage of the MotoGP World Championship held on the Barcelona circuit. The Portuguese won by surprise on the KTM. Wonderful success for the Lusitanian, who started brilliantly and then tried to force the pace. Subsequently it contained the comeback attempt of Fabio Quartararo and flew towards a wonderful success.

The French Johann Zarco closes in second position with Ducati Pramac e recovers valuable points against Fabio Quartararo in the general classification. The transalpine was the favorite on the eve, but then at the end of the race his suit opened and he had to defend himself, contenting himself with fourth place (he received a three-second penalty for an off-track). The Yamaha Petronas rider finished behind Jack Miller’s factory Ducati, ahead of the Suzuki of the World Champion Joan Mir and the other Yamaha of Maverick Vinales.

Francesco Bagnaia recovered a couple of positions with respect to qualifications and has thus closed in seventh place, however, only partially redeeming the fall of Mugello and moving further away from the top of the general classification. The Piedmontese was unable to shine with his factory Ducati, never giving the impression of being able to go further. Franco Morbidelli instead slipped back four places and had to settle for ninth place with the Yamaha Petronas, revealing critical issues with a bike that is now two years old.

Valentino Rossi crashed with nine laps remaining at the end of the race and while lapping at the edge of the points zone, in great difficulty riding his Yamaha Petronas. Yet another slip for the Doctor, who flew to the ground alone and increasingly in difficulty in this nefarious season. His brother does better Luca Marini, twelfth with the Ducati Avintia but behind his teammate Enea Bastianini (tenth). Lorenzo Savadori 15th with the Aprilia. The fall of Marc Marquez is worth noting which is now the shadow of the undisputed ruler of the category.
