Gara incredibile in Baku: Sergio Perez wins the Grand Prix ofAzerbaijan. The Red Bull driver finished ahead of Sebastian Vettel su Aston Martin e a Pierre Gasly on Alpha Tauri. Perez’s victory comes after two safety cars and a forced retirement before Max Verstappen, leader of the race up to three laps from the end, and then of Lewis Hamilton, arrived along the first corner after the second restart.
Safety car hit the track for the first time at 32nd lap, immediately after the accident that involved Lance Stroll, the other Aston Martin driver. At the first restart Max Verstappen he immediately gave it tore up against his pursuers, who have given rise to a close fight for the podium. With two laps to go, however, the Red Bull driver, who continued to set very good times despite 33 laps on hard tires, saw theexplosion of the rear left, which led him to crash dangerously against the wall and then to retire. Restarted from the grid, Hamilton immediately tried the attack against Perez, missing the braking and ending up on the escape route.
The Ferrari race in the shade. Leclerc, who started from pole position, had to deal with the clear superiority of his rivals, who overtook him from the first laps. Despite this, however, thanks to the various retirements, the Monegasque driver finished in fourth place. Carlos Sainz, after a rather gray test, he closed his race in ninth position, behind an unusually out of tone Lando Norris. Seventh place for the other Alpha Tauri by Yuki Tsunoda. For Segio Perez this is the second career victory.
