At first glance it looked like a normal woman’s bag forgotten on the bus, but it hid 18 thousand euros in cash inside. The discovery took place yesterday afternoon on the suburban line that connects Treviso to Spresiano. Around 3 pm the Mom bus (the local public transport company) arrived at the terminus and a passenger, before getting off, pointed out to the driver that a woman’s bag had been forgotten on one of the seats. Following the normal procedure for lost and found items on board, the driver opened the bag looking for the owner’s documents in the wallet.
In the notebook there were several 50 bills for a total that exceeded one thousand euros. After a few minutes the driver was called from the control room where the owner of the lost bag showed up desperately. It is a 60 year old originally from Eastern Europe. The driver, having received the report, returned to Treviso from Spresiano to return the bag to its rightful owner. Given the large amount of banknotes in the wallet, the driver invited the woman to count the money for safety but she was quick to look for more.
Inside the bag there were in fact dozens of wads of cash for a total of 18 thousand euros, according to what the 60-year-old told Mom staff. As a reward the driver handed over a 50-euro banknote.
