Violent assault this afternoon, Friday 4 June 2021, at the intersection of Corso Palermo and Via Sesia in Turin, against Verangela Marino, a local representative of the Brothers of Italy (she will be a candidate for the district council), and her husband, who were about to take part in a rally for Enzo Liardo’s candidacy in the next municipal elections. The woman, who has long been active in denouncing the phenomena of drug dealing and degradation in the neighborhood, was recognized and surrounded by about thirty African immigrants who attacked her with fists and kicks, causing bruises on the face and deep scratches and bruises on the shoulders and in the arms. The group first attempted to pull her out of the car she was sitting in, a Peugeot 207 that was kicked, and then beat her up, also hitting the man next to her. The woman reacted by using pepper spray, then the police intervened on the spot and identified several people. The two injured then went to be treated at the Giovanni Bosco hospital and were discharged with prognosis of 25 and ten days.
