Sky definitively greets DAZN. After the rivalry for the TV rights of Serie A, which resulted in the assignment to DAZN, the pay TV has announced that the application of the streaming platform of Perform will be eliminated from Sky Q.
The decision was largely foreseeable, and follows that relating to the cancellation of the Sky voucher for DAZN which will become effective from 1 July 2021, the day on which the new offers from DAZN will come into force.
With the elimination of the DAZN app, however, the news is not over. Sky indeed announced that from next autumn the Mediaset Infinity app will be available on Sky Go (which recently took the place of Mediaset Play) and which will also allow you to follow a series of Champions League matches in streaming. Furthermore, Discovery + will also arrive on Sky Q decoders by the end of the year, the new OTT service of the Discovery group.
No information from the RaiPlay front: Sky would be courting state TV to bring its app to Sky Q, but evidently an agreement between the parties has not yet been reached. Furthermore, the unknown factor of Paramount + remains, which will debut in our country in 2022.
These two apps will join Disney +, Netflix, Prime Video, YouTube, Spotify, RTL 102.5 and the games made available to users.
