A 37-year-old woman, who had contracted the Covid about two months ago, she passed away today, Thursday 3 June, at the hospital San Martino Polyclinic of Genoa. This was confirmed by the hospital’s health management. The woman’s conditions, after 10 days of hospitalization in La Spezia, worsened and a transfer to the Ligurian capital was requested.
The 37-year-old suffered cardiac arrest with pulmonary complications and bilateral pneumothorax during hospitalization. It has been treated for over 1 month in Ecmo, we read in the bulletin of the hospital, a particular therapy aimed at excluding the lungs and allowing oxygenation of the blood. However, there were no significant improvements in the clinical picture up to the onset of death. The victim is Sara Funaro, 37 years old wife of a trader.
