Paderno Dugnano, the 72-year-old who overwhelmed a 3-year-old boy was driving a confiscated car without a license. It had already caused an accident

He drove aseized car and had the license revoked the 72-year-old who yesterday overwhelmed a three-year-old child at the Parco Lago Nord in Paderno Dugnano (Milan). The confirmation came from the Prosecutor of Monza, Claudio Gittardi. It is an Italian man, with criminal record, who is now hospitalized at the Niguarda hospital in Milan. The reason for the revocation of the driving license is that in the past the man it had already caused another accident in which pedestrians were involved.

The child is still hospitalized in critical conditions. The prognosis remains reserved, as he fights for his life at the Papa Giovanni XXIII hospital in Bergamo. The carabinieri of the Sesto San Giovanni company are rebuilding the dynamics of the accident. The man entered with the car – a Citroen – in a pedestrian avenue of the park, breaking through the balustrade of a viewpoint and overwhelming a family who was enjoying a walk. The car swooped down from above, with no chance of being avoided. The parents, who were unharmed, immediately tried to resuscitate their son. When the rescuers arrived on the spot they stabilized the little one, before transporting him by helicopter rescue to Bergamo.

The conditions of the man driving are also severe. After the tests he was subjected to in the hospital, the hypothesis of driving in a state of intoxication or under the influence of substances is excluded, but not that of illness. As the causes that led to the accident are still unknown, the reason why the man started driving a confiscated car and with his license revoked is also unknown. At the moment, the 72-year-old is being investigated for very serious personal injury, as well as driving without a license.
