Setting up a home at thirty shouldn’t be an unattainable dream, especially in the land of bricks where three out of four families live in their own homes. Houses that belong to grandparents and fathers, for young people the purchase, but often also the rent, of the house is just a mirage. It is to come to the aid of those under 36 who would like to “put a roof over their heads” that the new Sostegni bis decree (Legislative Decree 73/2021) refinances the Guarantee Fund for the first home with 290 million euros (expected 250 million for 2022). The First Home Fund – established by the Letta government with Law 147/2013 in favor of young people under 35 – has the purpose of facilitating access to mortgages for the financially weakest subjects which, through Consap, are partially guaranteed by the State. The Sostegni bis decree introduces some relevant innovations.
