Luigi Nerini, the manager of the Stresa Mottarone cable car, investigated after the tragedy that cost the lives of 14 people, under investigation by the Verbania prosecutor’s office for two other incidents: they occurred in recent years along the Alpyland facility, a bobsleigh track on rail along the same slope of the Mottarone and always managed by a Nerini company. The circumstance emerges from the request for validation of the detention that was presented by the prosecutor Olimpia Bossi but which had been rejected by the investigating judge Donatella Banci Buonamici. The detail cannot be connected with the disaster of Sunday 23 May but is recalled by the prosecutor to support the already demonstrated intolerance to scrupulous compliance with the safety measures aimed at protecting the safety of users of this type of plant. The incidents occurred in 2017 and 2019 resulting in the injury of one employee and one passenger. The alleged offense is negligent injury. Nerini’s partner in the management of Alpyland had distanced himself from the entrepreneur under investigation because of differences over the management of the rollercoaster plant.
