Covid in Campania, today 218 positive and eight deaths but the contagion index goes back to 3.83%

The new positives decrease but – thanks to the 2 June holiday – the curve of coronavirus infections in Campania significantly increases: today the virus records 218 positives out of 5,692 molecular swabs tested, 170 fewer than yesterday with 7,322 fewer swabs processed. As a percentage, it means that 3.83% of the tests are positive, almost a percentage point higher than yesterday when the contagion index was at 2.98%. Of all these newly infected, 127 are asymptomatic and 91 have symptoms in a bulletin which, however, does not take into account the cases identified with rapid antigen tests.

Overall, the number of victims rises to 7,229 with the eight deaths recorded yesterday, even if the crisis unit is quick to specify that “they are those who died previously”. The number of hospital admissions is still decreasing: 594 hospitalized with symptoms, 30 fewer than yesterday, and 54 patients in intensive care, one less than yesterday. Fortunately, on the other hand, the number of patients cured is growing, from 347,234 to 348,023 with 789 negativized in 24 hours and the balance between the number of recovered and newly infected is positive for the 30th day in a row.
