I’m 1.968 i new cases of coronavirus in Italy (+2,897 yesterday, here the bulletin). So it goes up at least 4.225.163 the number of people who have contracted the SARS-CoV-2 virus (including recovered and died) since the outbreak began. THE deaths today I’m 59 (yesterday they were +62), for a total of 126,342 victims from February 2020. People recovered or discharged they are altogether 3.893.259 e 6.392 those that came out of the Covid nightmare today (+18,535 yesterday). The positive current – the subjects who have the virus – turn out to be in everything 205.562, equal to -4.488* compared to yesterday (-15.701 the day before), down from 6 April with the sole exception of 2 May.
The swabs and the scenario
I total swabs (molecular and antigenic) were 97.633, or 128,639 less than yesterday when there were 226,272. While the rate of positivity 2% (the approximation of 2.01%): it means that out of 100 swabs performed, 2 were positive; yesterday it was 1.2%. Here is the map of the contagion in Italy.
Less infections in 24 hours than yesterday. The curve flexes in the middle of the week due to fewer swabs – these are the analyzes processed on 2 June, a public holiday – consequently the curve behaves like monday (when it comes down due to the few tests performed on Sunday). Indeed, we are below the threshold of 2 thousand new cases, exactly like Monday 31st May and the second time it happens this month. The ratio of cases on test rises – it happens with fewer swabs – which stands at 2% from the previous 1.2%, in fact close to 2.1% on Monday.
The curve of the new positives on the Civil Protection website
All indicators improve, as shown by the independent monitoring of the Gimbe Foundation on a weekly basis (26 May-1 June): -27.4% for new cases, -28.3% for deaths, -27.6% for hospitalizations and -25.2% intensive care. For eleven consecutive weeks the downward trend of new cases has been confirmed – explains Nino Cartabellotta, president of Gimbe – both due to the reduced circulation of the virus, as demonstrated by the reduction in the positive / cases tested ratio, and by the decrease in testing activity . Deaths have also been steadily decreasing since mid-April, averaging just over 100 per day in the last week.
The Lombardy the most affected: here the positives are +277 thanks to over 14 thousand swabs – that is the highest number of regional tests of the day – with a rate of 1.9% which is more or less in line with the national one. Above 200 there are then: Sicily (+254 cases with 2.2% rate), Emilia Romagna (+232 with a 3.2% rate), Piedmont (+219 with 2% rate) e Campania (+218 with a 3% rate).
Victims are slightly decreasing: they are 59 against 62 yesterday. The saddest figures are down, below 100 for the sixth consecutive day, and are similar to those of mid-October when the second wave started. Seven regions have zero bereavement – these are Marche, Umbria, Basilicata, Molise, Valle d’Aosta and the Provinces of Trento and Bolzano – while the highest number of deaths in Puglia (+9), Campania (+8), Lombardy (+7) and Tuscany (+7). Below the details of all the regions.
The health system
Hospitalization is always decreasing, in critical and non-critical areas. The beds occupied in ordinary Covid wards I’m -141 (yesterday -334), for a total of 5,717 hospitalized. I beds occupied in intensive care (ICU) I’m -41 (yesterday -56), bringing the total of more seriously ill a 892, with 24 new entries in resuscitation (yesterday +33).
The vaccine doses administered are over 36 million. Citizens who have received the second dose are more than 12.4 million (22.96% of the population over 12). Here the map updated every evening and here the real-time data of the anti Covid-19 vaccines report on the government website.
