«From Monday 7 June the Veneto will be a white zone: I will sign the new ordinance this weekend, probably tomorrow, Friday 3 June ». This was announced by the president Luca Zaia at the press point on Thursday 3 June. “We are the first large Italian region to enter the white zone, from Monday the curfew will be abolished. Today’s parameters indicate an Rt Index of 0.64, an incidence rate of 19.4 cases per 100 thousand inhabitants and an employment rate of 5% for beds in non-critical areas and in intensive care ”.
The vaccination campaign
“In the last 24 hours we have administered 20 thousand vaccines, but in the next few days we will be able to reach up to 50 thousand daily doses thanks to the incoming supplies. Updated data on vaccination coverage in Veneto indicate that vaccinated 60-year-olds rose to 81.5%, 50-year-olds to 71% and 40-year-olds to 56%. At noon today they were 250 thousand reservations made by the Under 40s (category from 12 to 39 years old) at a regional level: the boys are giving us a unique demonstration of generosity and civic sense – said Zaia – Many have stayed up all night to book their place. There are still places to book until 4 August. From tomorrow at noon, however, we will open reservations for tourism operators: those who do not find the tax code can force the system and, at the vaccination center, must declare that they are employed in a tourist facility. 50,000 seats will be reserved for them. With the return to the white zone I think it’s really senseless to keep the limit in the restaurants of four people per table – Zaia concludes – If a place holds 40 people, there is no difference between having 10 tables of 4 or just one of 40. Four people at the table is really limiting. Discos and festivals will not be in the ordinance but we are negotiating with these sectors to see if it will be possible to help them »concludes the Governor.
