Palermo hub of the Mediterranean Fair crowded yesterday, the day of the Republic Day, with long lines from the morning for vaccinations without, however, there were long waiting times. And the bookings for anti-Covid vaccinations for those between 16 and 39 years begin today in Sicily. The extension of the serum administration to the new target (which includes over 1.3 million people) was authorized as part of the national immunization campaign.
Pfizer and Moderna vaccines are used and, on a voluntary basis, also Vaxzevria and Janssen (single-dose). “It is an opportunity not to be missed to get to mass immunization as soon as possible: only in this way will we be able to face the next few months with more serenity”, comments President Musumeci. It is possible to make an appointment at the vaccination centers both from the Poste Italiane platform (https://testcovid.costruiresalute.it/) and from that of the Palermo Mediterranean Fair (https://fiera.asppalermo.org/) for those who will come to immunize at the provincial hub.
Please note that this is not an open day: given the size of the target, booking is essential to access the vaccination. For those who come to get vaccinated at the Fair, the gates will open at 8 am and close at 11.30 pm; from 1.30 am, those booked for the night shift will have access from the entrance to piazza Cascino. To ensure an orderly flow, the two exhibition halls, 20 and 20A, will operate simultaneously.
“The vaccination campaign assumes even larger proportions and becomes mass – declares the Covid Commissioner of the Metropolitan City of Palermo, Renato Costa -. We have been waiting for this moment, because we are convinced that it will coincide with a strong acceleration of immunizations. There is a desire to get vaccinated, especially among the youngest, as we have seen in recent days with the breath of enthusiasm and energy of the graduates. We are here 24 hours a day, waiting for anyone who wants to contribute to this great collective effort to get out of the pandemic together ”.
Yesterday there were over fifty vaccinations in the mobile point of Piazza Castelnuovo until early afternoon, created by the ASP of Palermo, in agreement with the prefecture, and dedicated to those over 18 years of age. Benedetta attends the last year of the evening course of the professional institute ‘Pietro Piazza’ in Palermo with a focus on food and wine and arrived at 7 am. She waited for the mobile clinic, the structure dedicated to the anamnesis and the one for the release of certifications, then at 9, he received the vaccine. “I wanted to be sure I could get vaccinated – she says – I’m really happy and I hope everyone can do it in such a way that we can soon resume a normal life”.
