Under the scorching sun or in the rain waiting for trams and buses. Not in Milan anymore. Atm, for the convenience of passengers, announces that “by 2021, we will reach two thousand shelters”. Over the next 12 months, another 40 hi-tech ones will be installed, with scrolling displays to inform passengers in real time about the arrival of vehicles and give updates on mobility. For each of the nine Municipalities, three localities have already been identified that take into account the priorities of the neighborhoods. “This plan for the placement of shelters will allow us to make numerous surface stops more comfortable – declares the Councilor for Mobility Marco Granelli – We have done an important job to identify the points, but it seems useful to also collect the indications of the territories”. Thus, Granelli sent a letter to all the areas to “collect observations and preferences on two further positions for the Municipality”.
THE AREAS Here are some new installations: in Municipio 1 in via Francesco Sforza 5 (with the stop called Largo Augusto) and in via Senato-Marina (called Senato-Archivio di Stato); in Town Hall 2 in via Petrocchi (Turro M1 stop); in Town Hall 3 in via Milesi (Ortica); in 4 in viale Forlanini; in 5 in via Ripamonti 205 (Ripamonti-Noto); in 6 in via San Virgilio 21 (First Aid); in 7 in piazzale Baracca 10 and via Harar before via Tesio (called San Siro Stadio M5). In Municipio 8 in via Eritrea and in via Betti (Bonola M1) in the direction of piazza Firenze. Finally, in municipality 9 in via Astesani (Affori Fn M3), Ciccotti (Ciccotti Affori Fn M3) and Bovisasca (Bovisasca-Gabbro.
ECO-CANOPIES The new 40 shelters are added to the 60 eco-sustainable and smart, LED-lit thanks to the energy supplied by a thin photovoltaic panel on the “roof”: they are all equipped with two displays that inform, in real time, about news concerning city mobility. Like the one in via Bagarotti at the corner of via Gozzoli, at the bus stop for lines 63 and 76, in the Valsesia district.
