Stellantis: focus on car sales in France in May
Stellantis remains in the spotlight after last month’s auto sales figures.
In Europe, registrations in May were in strong growth due to the easy year-on-year comparison, but remain at levels well below 2019.
In detail, in France, which represents about 10% of Stellantis volumes, the car and light commercial vehicle market saw registrations of 177 thousand units, up 43% on an annual basis, with an increase of 52% since the beginning. 2021 at 919 thousand units.
Sales of cars rose 46% to 141,000 units, up 50% from the start of the year, and light commercial vehicles sales of 30% to 36,000 units, compared with an increase of 59% since the beginning of 2021.

Moving on to Italy, which represents about 9% of Stellantis volumes, the car market reported registrations up by 43% to 143 thousand units compared to the same period of 2020, while compared to May 2019 there was a decrease in 27.9%, also thanks to the end of the incentives.
Stellantis outperformed the market, with registrations up 49.5% to 56,000 units in May, against a market share of 39.3%.
Equita SIM analysts point out that the trend highlighted in May is consistent with their estimates for the whole of 2021, waiting to understand the impact of the semiconductor shortage on production.

Meanwhile, the bullish strategy on Stellantis does not change, which for Equita SIM deserves a “buy” recommendation, with a target price of 20 euros.
The Milanese SIM is not the only one to bet on the stock, given that last week a bullish confirmation came from Bestinver which on the one hand confirmed the “buy” rating on the stock and on the other the target price at 14-15 euros , already largely exceeded by current assessments.
Good news also from Intesa Sanpaolo which recommends buying Stellantis, with a fair value of 19.9 euros.
Even more generous is the indication that comes from Goldman Sachs, with a “buy” recommendation and a target price of 21 euros, a value that implies an upside potential of almost 28% compared to the current prices on the Milan Stock Exchange.
