Although the epic of Italian road racing takes its first steps in the historic Targa Florio and Mille Miglia, the history of the Rally d’Italia is exclusively linked to two places: Sanremo and Sardinia (here the TV timetables of the 2021 edition). When we talk about our national rally, many think of Sanremo, which hosted the world stage between the 70s and 90s, the golden age of this sport for Italy from the domination of Lancia to the Biasion drivers’ titles. . In the modern era the headquarters moved to Sardinia, starting from 2004, a fantastic location also from the point of view of the tourist promotion of our country. Leaving the Ligurian asphalt, we moved on to Sardinian land without losing the spectacularity and unpredictability that has always characterized the Rally d’Italia. We retrace the top ten of the legendary episodes that have made the history of our rally from 1970 to today.
