MASS. Silvio Francesconi, former footballer of Carrarese, Massese and Sarzanese of the seventies, got married at the age of 68. Since last April he was hospitalized for covid al Noa. He leaves behind his wife Giovanna, children and grandchildren. Great condolences in the world of football that he had never left after the end of his professional career, continuing to coach in various clubs in the area.

Midfielder of great qualities, Francesconi began his career with Massese in 1971. In 1973, the transition to Sarzanese which coincided with the victory of the Promotion championship. After a brief experience at the Carpi, in 1977 the call of Corrado Orrico’s Carrarese arrived.

Francecsoni was one of the protagonists of the historic promotion to C2 in 1978. Francesconi’s rise continued in 1979-1980. In that season he played 5 Serie B matches with Ternana, and then moved, in the autumn transfer market session, to Udinese in Serie.

Tomorrow (Thursday 3 May) the funeral at 15.30 in his Montignoso.
