Milano – Milan is an increasingly futuristic city in continuous transformation, yet it still reveals to the most nostalgic eyes the irresistible allure of Old Milan, the city immortalized by period images and black and white photographs taken between the 19th and 20th centuries. From April 16th to May 1st 2021 Neiade – Tour & Events presents an online course in 3 events entitled Trades and shops in Milan, a thematic path to relive an atmosphere that is only apparently lost, made up of traditions, anniversaries, places and characters united by a typically Milanese figure.

Milano – The first appointment is on Friday 16 April with the meeting The professions of Milan, an itinerary from the Navigli to the Duomo to discover ancient Milanese crafts (perhaps) that have disappeared, the traces of which still run through the streets of the historic center, still feeding recurrences and city traditions or inspiring the typical recipes of Milan, such as the gluttonous pan de mej.

Milano – It continues on Saturday 24 April with the virtual meeting Le botteghe di Milano, to discover the historic shops of the city, discreet presences in the rich historical-artistic fabric of the historic center, between Ca ‘Granda, the Duomo and the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II. Beyond the signs of yesteryear and among precious original furnishings, make way for the wonderful artifacts still sold today in historic shops: rare clocks, cuckoos and music boxes, pipes and old cribs, sweets and delicacies, furs, fine fabrics and high quality tailoring.

The course closes on Saturday 1st May with The birth of department stores and modern shopping, meeting dedicated to the evolution of one of the symbolic professions of Old Milan and Milanese fashion short. How is the figure of the tailor transformed between the 19th and 20th centuries? From skilled craftsman to great stylist passing through the industrial revolution and the Belle Époque, while the concept of the shops also changed, from small shops depository of artisan knowledge to new large spaces of urban aggregation: the department stores.

Each meeting has a standard price of 7 euros and requires reservations to be made on the website of Neiade. For more information call 373 7525689.
