The first date to mark on the agenda is June 7, at 7 pm, when the Menotti will reopen after more than six months for Covid and for a renovation. On that occasion it will be possible to see the new multipurpose space on the upper floor, the refurbishment of the foyer, the new stage, the new lighting, the new furnishings and the new services for the public. A rebirth, as they define it in this theater, also possible thanks, among others, to the charity Trust Filippo Perego di Cremnago onlus, the Municipality of Milan, the Lombardy Region and the Cariplo Foundation.

From June 8th to 26th the stage in via Menotti will be back with the Fragili come la terra project, shows and collateral activities dedicated to the “blue planet and its inhabitants”. The first appointment, from 8 to 13 June, is ‘We can save the world before dinner’, a theatrical version of the book, environmentalist, by Jonathan Safran Foer (Guanda), with the young company Collettivo Menotti. From 15 to 20 June, continuing the dialogue between literature and theater, the Menotti Collective will interpret ‘Slaughterhouse n. 5 ‘, from the longseller by Kurt Vonnegut (Feltrinelli), in an adaptation written and directed by Emilio Russo. From 22 to 24 June it will be the turn of ‘A Martian in Rome’, by Ennio Flaiano, with Milvia Marigliano and music performed live by the trumpeter Raffaele Kohler. A special event is scheduled for June 26, ‘La via del sale’, with the participation of the Archbishop of Milan Monsignor Mario Delpini, taken from two of his texts. The members of the Elikya Association will also participate, a multicultural choir that will sing in many languages. Among the collateral initiatives of Fragili come la terra, the screening of the documentary ‘Eating Animals’, taken from Foer’s previous essay, which will connect from New York, and the meeting with astronaut and astrophysicist Umberto Guidoni, always connected in streaming.

Among the many shows planned: Nino Formicola and Sabina Negri in ‘Angelo Fausto Coppi – The hero born peasant’ (8 July, 7.30 pm), Alessandro Benvenuti for ‘Panico ma rosa’ (11 July, 19.30), Alessandro Bonan with ‘Of love, music, sport and other nonsense’ (12 and 13 July, same time), Donatella Finocchiaro, ‘Il commissario Collura goes on a cruise’ (16 July, 19.30), the ‘Variations furiose ‘by Federica Fracassi because, the actress underlines, “Orlando furioso is a rock poem” (17 and 18 July, same time), Federico Buffa on the’ 1936 Olympics ‘(22 July, 19.30),’ Marie Curie ‘according to Gabriella Greison (23 and 24 July, same time) and’ Omar Nedjari ‘with Ubu Re, on the falsehood of those in power (30 July, 19.30).
