Moto2 France: Raul Fernandez wins the race, Marco Bezzecchi on the podium

Raul Fernandez won the French Moto2 GP by a large margin, raced on a dry track after the rains of the weekend. According to Gardner, third Marco Bezzecchi

Many crashes in Moto3, a more “smooth” race in Moto2 (despite the crashes of Stefano Manzi, Sam Lowes and Joe Roberts). Raul Fernandez won, who started from pole and attacked after the first laps and ended up doing a solitary race, winning by a wide margin over the championship leader Remy Gardner. Podium for our Marco Bezzecchi, who remains in the running for the World Cup. In fourth place a brilliant Tony Arbolino, only eighth Fabio Di Giannantonio.

the race

Bezzecchi had a great start, leading up to lap 8 when Fernandez picked up the pace and cut off the competition. In the meantime, the crashes of Joe Roberts – who came along at a braking point and in contact with Bezzecchi – and especially Sam Lowes represented heavy episodes for the title race. Remy Gardner got hooked on Fernandez only to be detached himself. The Spaniard showed a much higher pace than the others by winning and reducing Gardner’s lead in the championship to just one point. Bezzecchi at -17, plus Lowes (-23).
