Rain in the third session and Marc is the best ahead of the Italian from Noale and Bagnaia. However, the ten of FP2 pass into Q2. Frankie slips into the pit lane trying to change the bike, but he can run
Rain, rain tires and the impossibility of improving the times on Friday in the third free session of the MotoGP of the French GP. At Le Mans the weather remains uncertain, not to say adverse, and the top class drivers take advantage of it to find the best set-up in view of any wet qualifying and race. In the free thirds, however, there are indications on the fittest in the wet, with Marc Marquez rising after the ordeal of his long injury and recovering for the first time since his return to the top of the standings with the best time of the session. A first sign, but indicative, which gives morale to the Spaniard.
Best time, therefore, for Marquez, in 1: 40.736, but behind him shines an excellent Lorenzo Savadori who is at ease on the wet and takes his Aprilia to second place 0.613 behind the Spaniard’s Honda. Followed by a good third Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati) at 0.716, ahead of Miguel Oliveira (Ktm) and Pol Espargaro.
morbidelli apprehension, but it’s ok
Rounding out the top ten, here are Zarco, Mir, Rins, Lecuona and Luca Marini. Of note are the falls of Jack Miller, in the descent to the left of turn 6, and Iker Lecuona. at the dreaded bend in turn 3. An apprehension, above all, for Franco Morbidelli, who in trying the bike change collapses in the pit lane and falls on the second Yamaha at his disposal. Controlled by the medical staff, the Italian-Brazilian suffered a slight sprain in his left knee, which will be treated in Clinica Mobile, but he is ‘fit’ to get back on track.
