FLORENZI INTERVIEW ROME – Go back to talking Alessandro Florenzi. The former winger and captain of the Roma, today at PSG on loan, was interviewed by La Gazzetta dello Sport. These are his words.
The interview with Florenzi
«They have been months lived fully. It was what I was looking for: a new experience, in a new country, with a new language and a new dressing room to integrate into. Comrades I had known since the time of Roma helped me, like Marquinhos and Paredes. And obviously Marco Verratti whom I also know thanks to the national team. it is a beautiful experience. For the future let’s see what will happen ».
By the way, how has the Italian league been from afar?
“Well, this season has been very interesting because after nine years there is a new queen. And we must congratulate Inter and Conte for the work that has been done. However, everything remains open for seats in the Champions League. In short, I always follow Serie A as a fan and as a fan, because I am the rest of Roma: this no one can ever take away from me ».
There was a revolution in Rome. Mourinho arrives on the bench in place of Fonseca. Is he the right coach?
“First of all, I think it’s a real breath of fresh air for the whole environment. Perhaps one of the technicians with the greatest personality and charisma arrives, who knows and can manage the Roman context that is known, and I know it first of all, it is not exactly the easiest. I hope that Mourinho can do really well ».
Can Roma with Mourinho on the bench immediately aim for the Scudetto?
“At least I hope so, if only as a fan, so I can go and celebrate at the Circus Maximus …”.
You are still under contract with Roma until 2023, but in recent times you have been associated with Conte’s Inter who has appreciated you since he was coach of the national team. Do you like it?
«In recent years I have worked hard to get back to my pre-injury levels. I think I succeeded, especially by doing intense mental work: it is the head that moves the legs, not the other way around. Obviously it’s nice to be approached with a great team like Inter, but usually I don’t pay attention to market rumors, what people say or what the newspapers write. I prefer facts to words, working on the pitch, and even off to improve all the essential aspects of a player’s life, from nutrition to rest. However, I am living the Parisian experience intensely. In short, zero chatter. All my energies are invested in the cause of PSG. I’m trying to repay the trust of president Al Khelaifi and ds Leonardo, of Tuchel with whom I started the season, and now of Pochettino who continues to believe in me. So I just want to give it my all. The rest will be seen ».
