The Empoli of the president Corsi returns to Serie A thanks to an extraordinary work of the coach and a group of quality players. With the usual Tuscan model for young people
Empoli returns to Serie A after two years. The victory against Cosenza allows Alessio Dionisi’s team to celebrate the arithmetic promotion with two rounds in advance. A well-deserved success, built on a season made up of 18 victories so far out of the 36 days played. Now the company of Fabrizio Corsi (always spectacular from the point of view of foresight and organization) will have the commitment to retain the best men, both from the technical point of view and from the personal point of view. Because within this group there are many faces that have been decisive.
The first is that of Dionisi, an increasingly popular coach in Serie A. He had left Venice to try to conquer the highest step on the field. The contract will expire in 2022 and common sense says he will continue in Empoli before leveling up and maybe doing as has happened in these parts to people like Luciano Spalletti and Maurizio Sarri.
Mancuso, La Mantia, Parisi, Stulac
Empoli returns to Serie A with a group of players with interesting individual values. Leonardo Mancuso is the team’s top scorer, Andrea La Mantia the best sidekick he could find. Then there are the ideas of Leo Stulac, the Slovenian who after the opaque experience in Parma will have another opportunity to confront Serie A. Alberto Brignoli in goal gave wisdom, Simone Romagnoli provided the experience (fifth championship of B won, the second with Empoli). And then as always in these parts the new names, the young people who have already liked Serie A for months.
The young Ricci and Parisi
Samuele Ricci, central midfielder of 2001, a native of Pontedera, is one of the exponents of the new generation proposed by the Corsi club. A native of Pontedera, he did all the youth teams with the Empoli club, up to the first team and already reached the Italian Under 21 team. Fabiano Parisi, left-back in 2000, grew up between Benevento and Avellino before making himself known with the Empoli shirt this season. They are the two youngest, but there are also other fresh elements to remember: Dimitrios Nikolaou, Greek central defender in 1998 in the senior national team and Nedim Bajrami, Swiss-Albanian in 1999, attacking midfielder. The team will have to be fixed, of course, but the base is very good with Dionisi on the bench. And it will be fun.
