L’Inter wins the Scudetto four days early, and the party is unleashed in the streets of Milano. As expected, even if the rules for the containment of the Covid-19 public demonstrations and gatherings are forbidden, thousands of Nerazzurri fans took to the streets to celebrate the victory of the flag.
The party was already in the air and materialized at the final whistle of Sassuolo-Atalanta, who mathematically handed the Scudetto to the Nerazzurri. The title arrives slightly earlier than expected: the prefecture had already asked to bring forward the next match next Saturday at home against Sampdoria, moving it from 18 to 15 to prevent the celebrations of the fans continued beyond the curfew time. A request that had been rejected, but which turned out to be useless. In fact, the party has already started today, in advance. The cloudy day and the epidemic situation not yet resolved did not discourage the fans, who especially crowded the Duomo, the traditional place of celebrations (see the images).
With a release on Twitter the club had promptly invited its supporters to celebrate the championship victory respecting the anti-contagion rules: ” Now is the time for the party: for all the Inter fans. A joy that is released genuine but that we invite you to express in the most responsible way possible: we are champions in this too! ”. An invitation to responsibility that the Nerazzurri fans have largely ignored. The first arrived in Piazza Duomo they sang choruses – da “Who doesn’t jump Rossoneri is” to that “Co .. why you never win the Champions League” – and waved flags. Shortly after many others crowded with flags, smoke bombs, scarves but very few masks. Amidst choirs and smoke bombs, a hundred Nerazzurri fans climbed the monument of Vittorio Emanuele II, in the center of the square, spreading a tricolor flag on one of the two lions at the base of the monument. In the meantime, the festive Nerazzurri tide was getting more and more numerous, images destined to travel around the world in real time and that arouse more than a few concerns due to the possible increase in infections.
” Piazza Duomo in Milan is literally invaded by fans celebrating the Scudetto won by Inter. We are all happy for them that they have won the championship after 11 years and I want to congratulate Inter, but it is an event announced and predictable for days, yet the only one to be taken by surprise is Mayor Sala who has not measures are envisaged to counter the gatherings. After the lockdown, the curfew, the distancing and the masks, after more than a year of limitations with shops, gyms and closed swimming pools, in Milan they are all crowded together !!! Where were the fighters who had to be previously ordered by the mayor? Where was the man of the raid on the canals? Perhaps, as a passionate Inter fan, he was in the crowd. A city is not managed like this and the hope is that in the midst of an epidemic this superficiality of the Municipality of Milan should not fall on someone forced to close. In case we will thank the Mayor Sala ”. He states this in a note Licia Ronzulli, vice president of the group Come on Italy in the Senate and in charge of the blue movement for relations with allies.
” The joy of the Inter fans is more than understandable, I say this as a fan, albeit from another team. I wonder, however, why in Milan, in the Darsena or in Brera, it is necessary to cordon off the streets to avoid gatherings and convey the flow of people and in Piazza del Duomo they can pour in thousands in an uncontrolled way ”. It says Marco Barbieri, general secretary of Confcommercio Milan, commenting on the championship gatherings. ” I don’t want to judge which of the two choices is more right to contain the infections – adds Barbieri – but it amazes me how different weights and measures are used in a common emergency situation. Bars and restaurants cannot open their premises, while guaranteeing spacing and sanitation, but they are only allowed to use the outdoor space. Parks and squares, on the other hand, can fill up uncontrollably and without any health precautions ”. Legitimate doubts also of the managers of bars and restaurants, who yesterday closed their first week in reinforced yellow.
