MILAN – Saturday 15 January 2022 will be held at Tenoha of Milan the inauguration of the oriental exhibition entitled “Botteghe di Tokyo – The Exhibition”. An immersive and free exhibition inspired by the suggestive watercolor illustrations, by the artist Mateusz Urbanowicz.
Visitors will be able to stroll through the streets, alleys and traditional shops of the Japanese capital, the latter present in the form of huge life-size prints. All in a space characterized by the realistic interaction between objects and space. Curated by the creative director Laura Micalizzi, the exhibition focuses on the details of Tokyo less known even for those who have already visited it.
Tokyo workshops by Mateusz Urbanowicz at Tenoha in Milan
Each reproduction will have the same visual impact of the watercolor illustrations collected in the artbook “Botteghe di Tokyo”. Urbanowicz was born and raised in Poland and moved to Kobe, in Japan, after graduating in Information Technology thanks to a scholarship. He then graduated with honors from Kobe Design University with an animated short film called “Right Places”. Since 2013 he has been working as a full-time digital artist in the Comix Wave Films animation studio in Tokyo. Participate in the making of commercials, animated TV series (for example “Space Dandy”) and animated feature films.
The exhibition is open every day with free admission to the Tenoha, from 11:00 to 20:00. Reservation is mandatory and to access the exhibition it will be necessary to show the reinforced Green Pass and be in possession of an FFP2 mask.
