There are 8,571 (of which 7,022, 81.9%, asymptomatic) the new cases of people tested positive for Covid-19 in Piedmont, equal to 13.5% of the 63,530 swabs performed in the last hours, of which 56,456 antigenic. This was announced by the Crisis Unit of the Region in today’s update bulletin, Monday 10 January.
The new cases (+632 in the Novara area and +404 in the Vco) are divided as follows: 7,091 screening, 1132 case contacts, 348 with ongoing investigation.
The total number of positive cases registered in the region since the beginning of the pandemic becomes 609,625, divided as follows on a provincial basis: 50,976 Alessandria, 29,064 Asti, 21,215 Biella, 85,915 Cuneo, 47.320 Novara, 313.871 Turin, 21.111 Vercelli, 22.939 Verbano-Cusio-Ossola, as well as 2,848 residents outside the region but in charge of Piedmontese health structures. The remaining 14,366 are under development and territorial assignment.
+116 admissions to Piedmontese hospitals
According to today’s regional bulletin, Monday 10 January, there are 140 patients admitted to intensive care in Piedmont hospitals (-5 compared to yesterday), while non-intensive care patients are 1,845 (+121 compared to yesterday). People in home isolation are 142,436 (+2,907 compared to yesterday).
+13 deaths in the last 24 hours
Today, 13, 7 deaths of people positive for the Covid-19 test communicated by the Piedmont Region Crisis Unit in the update bulletin of Monday 10 January. The total therefore becomes 12,178 deaths tested positive for the virus, divided as follows by province: 1,608 Alessandria, 735 Asti, 454 Biella, 1,498 Cuneo, 976 Novara, 5.839 Turin, 562 Vercelli, 385 Verbano-Cusio-Ossola, as well as 121 residents outside the region who died in Piedmont.
Over 5 thousand new healed
The healed patients total 453,026 (+5,535 compared to yesterday), divided as follows on a provincial basis: 37,286 Alessandria, 22,377 Asti, 15,046 Biella, 64,308 Cuneo, 37.110 Novara, 238.221 Turin, 15.982 Vercelli, 16,983 Verbano-Cusio-Ossola, in addition to 1,732 extra-regions and 3,981 in the definition phase.
The situation in the Novara area
The hospitalizations in the Novara area date back to where 147 people are hospitalized (+12 compared to yesterday). In particular, at the Maggiore di Novara, where a 93-year-old woman died in the last 24 hours, there are 99 (+11 compared to yesterday) covid patients: 6 are in intensive care (3 of which are not vaccinated), 14 in sub-intensive (of which 7 not vaccinated), 34 in medium intensity wards (of which 14 not vaccinated), 10 in the Infectious Diseases ward (of which 3 not vaccinated), 4 in Obstetrics (of which 3 not vaccinated), and 31 in the Covid department of the Galliate office (of which 8 are not vaccinated). In Novara, in the last few hours, 4 patients have also been discharged and another 2 have been transferred to other structures. A new death also at the Borgomanero hospital, where 6 people have been discharged in the last 24 hours and 5 others have been hospitalized (1 not vaccinated and 4 vaccinated). As for hospitalizations, there are 48 covid patients (+1 compared to yesterday): 5 are in intensive care, 18 in sub-intensive care and 25 in the other wards.
