Covid, Liguria exceeds the 10% threshold on intensive care: the closest yellow area

Liguria. L’employment of intensive care in Liguria reached 10% of the total, actually reaching the first alarm threshold regarding the containment of the pandemic relative to the health system’s stability. This is the second parameter that is “breached”, concretely returning the spectrum of the yellow zone to our region.

The data come from the Liguria Region bulletin and speak for themselves: the places occupied in intensive care are 25 out of a total of 223 available, while the incidence rate of positives per 100 thousand inhabitants remains stable above the threshold of 150 cases. These two parameters are already from the yellow zone: according to the latest report from last Friday, the incidence rate is 175.72, i.e. above the second alarm threshold of 150 (the first is 50, and no region in Italy satisfies it), which triggers the mechanism so to stay in the white zone you have to stay under 10% of intensive care and under 15% of medium-intensity beds.

The total endowment is 1,711 beds in average intensity of care (number declared to the Ministry of Health and reported by Agenas) which means that the threshold of 15% is reached with 256 hospitalizations: in yesterday’s bulletin the number of hospitalized patients in medium intensity it went up again by 9 units reaching 170, which means that 86 are missing to get to trigger the third parameter necessary to arrive in the yellow zone. And with these rhythms it overrun could also arrive within tens of days.

And this is why the Liguria Region is running for cover trying to implement the availability in hospitals, with the reopening of some spaces in Genoa and in the western part of the region and “ensuring an adequate turnover of Covid beds by discharging those who can be discharged” , as the president Giovanni Toti himself underlined last Friday.

And it is for this reason that the Liguria Region is running for cover trying to implement the availability in the hospitals, with the reopening of some spaces in Genoa and in the western part of the region and “ensuring a adequate turnover of Covid beds, dismissing those who can be discharged “, as the president Giovanni Toti himself underlined last Friday.

But not only that: the treatment with monoclonal antibodies that is being carried out these days in some RSAs that have become new outbreaks of Covid, is allowing the therapies to be held at ‘home’, avoiding hospitalizations and easing the health system: if, in fact, they were the 45 positives of the RSA Maccio di Masone and the 13 of the RSA dei Camaldoli were hospitalized, perhaps we would already be in the yellow zone.

Christmas in the yellow zone? This is a fact, unfortunately more and more probable if the trends of these days are confirmed for next week, which at this point becomes decisive. But what happens when the yellow zone is taken? All the green pass and super green pass rules remain, with the obligation, not just, of wear the mask even outdoors.
