A crowd of onlookers on Saturday evening for the fir ordered by the Capitol with the lights on before the inauguration on 8 December. But it was just a test, then the workers turned it off. The images have gone around the web
Test lighting last night for the Christmas tree in Piazza Venezia, finished decorating just a few days ago. The image went around the Net in minutes last night, after many Romans – around the nightlife – they realized that the fir ordered by the Capitol had the lights on before the traditional ceremony of 8 December, last year transformed into a remote ignition due to the Covid emergency in full evolution.
That it was a general rehearsal to verify the functioning of all the electrical systems in the center of Piazza Venezia would also have been confirmed by some workers who were under the tree, even if a group of onlookers formed anyway. And a few minutes later, in fact, the luminous decorations were turned off. On the web, as mentioned, tam tam of images stolen in those few moments of enlightenment and also some political controversy such as that of the municipal councilor Marco Palma (Brothers of Italy), who commented: Gualtieri preferred to hurry up, perhaps to finish first. In fact, this now decidedly unfortunate city has broken the tradition and in the matter of spelacchi. We fell for it … again. time to have third parties manage the entire phase of the Capitoline Christmas.
