How the administration will take place
The vaccination will start from December 16 and will be voluntary: there will be no Green pass for the little ones. The Technical Scientific Commission of AIFA has approved the extension of indication of use of the Comirnaty vaccine for the age group 5-11 years, with a reduced dose (one third of the dosage authorized for adults): 10 micrograms, with assembled vials for pediatric use only. The vaccination will take place in two doses, three weeks apart. Children must be accompanied by one of their parents.
Where it will be possible to get vaccinated
It will be possible to get vaccinated in pediatric clinics and pharmacies that adhere to the vaccination campaign. Or at the hubs already present: ad hoc paths will be created for the little ones, where pediatricians, doctors, nurses and even “clowns” will be present.
How to book
Reservations must be made on the web portals and dedicated numbers of the Regions.
Are there children for whom the vaccine is not recommended?
Children suffering from severe asthma and allergies to the excipients present in the serum will be excluded from vaccination. Those who take immunomodulatory drugs or biological drugs will have to undergo specific clinical analyzes.
Will children who have already had Covid be vaccinated?
Yes, children who have had Covid will be able to get vaccinated. However, the timing, with respect to the disease, and the doses, if with one or two, have not yet been established.
The post vaccine In the hours and days following vaccination, symptoms similar to those experienced in adults may appear, with pain in the injection area or general malaise and fever, but in a milder form. If necessary, it will be possible, under the advice of the general practitioner, to use tachipirina with pediatric dosage.
