The initiative of Sky Italia in collaboration with AzzeroCO2 to repopulate the Porto di Mare Park and Casa Chiaravalle trees in Milan. As part of Mosaico Verde, the national campaign conceived and promoted by AzzeroCO2 and Legambiente with the patronage of the most important national institutions and associations, Sky Italia carries out a forestation project for 1000 trees near its Milan office. The first plants were planted today in the presence of the Environmental and Green Councilor of the Municipality of Milan, Elena Grandi.

The initiative, part of the “ForestaMi” urban forestry project, is aimed at making a concrete contribution to the redevelopment of two areas of the city, brought back to life thanks to the intervention of Italia Nostra and its Urban Forestry Center: Parco Porto di Mare, located in Rogoredo, and Casa Chiaravalle, the largest area in Lombardy requisitioned by organized crime. The areas have been carefully selected so that the forestation project respects the criteria of biodiversity and landscape protection.

The planting of a thousand plants is part of the activities for the reduction of CO2 emissions of Sky Zero, the campaign with which the company has committed itself to becoming net zero carbon by 2030. The initiative is also part of the projects of Sky Cares, the corporate volunteer program that offers Sky people the opportunity to engage in social issues with the support and collaboration of the company. Today, in fact, some employees of the Milan office have been protagonists of the activity by personally taking care of the planting of the plants.

The Sky Cares project is the European edition of Comcast Cares Day, one of the largest corporate volunteer initiatives in America which, every year, gives Group employees the opportunity to concretely engage in social issues.
