(ANSA) – ROME, 01 DEC – “In Italy there is no Ministry of the Future, which makes forecasts, the ‘foresight’, which tells us ‘in 60 years things will be like this’. What is missing in Italy is the risk assessment , someone who can tell us what the consequences of a choice will be “. This was said this morning by the Minister of Ecological Transition, Roberto Cingolani, speaking at an event held by Foza Italia and the Mattei Foundation in the Senate.

For Cingolani “we need a foresight on energy, to understand how we will electrify in the next few years. We are working well on energy saving, today an Enea report was presented. But we need forecasts on green hydrogen, on what impact the production of batteries on the demand for lithium, we need to plan a future after lithium. And then we want to think about scenarios for 2070 that see nuclear fusion in the energy mix? “.

According to the minister, “we need to analyze the impact that the gigafactories we are going to build will have, what consequences they will have on the workforce and the supply chain. And then we need to know what impact on CO2 the intervention programs we have on forests and seas will have” . (HANDLE).
