a train derails in Cedegolo, 7 injured

At around 6.20 today, Wednesday 1 December, a train derailed along the Brescia-Edolo railway line in Cedegolo, in Valcamonica.

According to what has been reconstructed so far, it seems that the cause of the accident was the fall of some rocks from the mountain: the driver braked abruptly (the convoy was traveling south), but it was not possible to avoid the impact.

At that point the train went off the tracks, getting stuck at the tunnel entrance. There are at least seven injured: none of them seem to be in serious condition.
