November 30: the Day Against the Death Penalty | Milan news

The Municipality of Milan accepted the proposal of the Community of Sant’Egidio and joined the twentieth edition of the Day “Cities for life, city for life – city against the death penalty”.

The anniversary, which falls on November 30 of each year, commemorates the first abolition of the death penalty in our country, which took place in 1786 in the Grand Duchy of Tuscany.
The municipalities that have taken part in this Day since 2002 have been 2,402, and have done so with educational initiatives and events that have as their objective the sensitization of citizens on this issue.
